Delhi Capitals has announced Faf du Plessis at its vice-captain for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season on Monday.
du Plessis, 40, will be playing his first season for the Delhi-based franchise and will be deputy to Axar Patel – the new DC captain.
The franchise took it to social media to announce du Plessis’ new role.
The South African opener was released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of the IPL 2025 auction after leading the team for three seasons: from IPL 2022 to 2024. du Plessis was acquired by DC for his base price of Rs. 2 crore.
